FBAs The Wisconsin Way - Spring 2026

About this event:

As educator teams navigate increased demands for supporting student behavior that challenges us, a key tool is understanding functional behavioral assessments (FBAs). This two-part series equips teams with tools to understand the function and root cause of behaviors that interfere with a student’s learning through a functional behavioral assessment. Part one will focus on using the WI DPI 2025 FBA resources to explore clearer consent rules, how to conduct an effective and comprehensive FBA, and exploring the technical behavior resources. In part two, teams will further delve into specific tools such as RIOT/ICEL and root cause analysis to enhance their ability to identify function and root cause of behavior to determine targeted evidence-based interventions and positive behavioral supports.
