About this event:
Membership in the CESA 2 EL/ML Network/Title III Consortium includes enrollment in one of our EL Network options: In-Person or Virtual. Districts may choose the option that best fits their needs. The content for the in-person and virtual meetings will be similar; however, the methods for networking, presenting, and resource sharing will be customized to maximize the member experience in each format, whether in person at CESA 2 or online.
In-Person Network
Full-day network meetings will be held from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at the CESA 2 Whitewater Innovation Center three times per year:
September 23, 2026
November 18, 2026
April 28, 2027
L3IFT Framework
We will continue planning with the L3IFT Framework, with an emphasis on disciplinary literacy practices, oracy, WIDA Standards implementation, and progress monitoring.
Book Selections
We will continue to reference Engaging Students in Academic Literacies: SFL Genre Pedagogy for K–8 Classrooms by María Estela Brisk. We will also engage in a book study using Amplifying the Curriculum: Designing Quality Learning Opportunities for Multilingual Learners, Second Edition, edited by Aída Walqui, George C. Bunch, and Jovana Kosanović Mueller. This text pairs very well with the L3IFT Framework and will help deepen our shared understanding of how to design quality, language-rich learning opportunities for multilingual learners.
Additional network topics and resources will include:
Programming planning, data dives, state updates, and more
Ready-to-use resources for classrooms, buildings, and districts
EL/ML newsletters, asynchronous shorts, and modules
Symposium
For the second year in a row, we will host a virtual symposium on Wednesday, February 24, 2027. This session will be accessible to all in-person and virtual network members. Whatever the weather outside, members can join from the comfort of home, office, or classroom to learn about motivating and inspiring initiatives happening across the consortium. Participants will see and hear examples of local application of the practices we are learning together. More information and communication about the symposium will be shared at a later date.
