About this event:
As generative AI continues to reshape the educational landscape, district leaders face a critical challenge: how do we move beyond fascination with AI’s possibilities and into systemic, responsible implementation? At this point, districts are at different levels of implementation using a variety of models.
This Summit equips district decision-makers and instructional leaders with tools to assess their district's preparedness/implementation for generative AI using nationally endorsed resources — which includes the K–12 Gen AI Maturity Tool, developed by CoSN, CGCS, and AWS. This model reveals areas of growth and provides a clear path to maturity in all areas of an organization.
The CoSN K12 Gen AI Maturity Model includes seven domains, including Leadership, Operations, Data, Technology, Security, Legal, and Academic AI Literacy - with subdomains and elements to drill down specific pathways of implementation. This comprehensive framework enables district leadership teams to self-assess their AI current state, identify implementation gaps, and chart a strategic path toward responsible and impactful AI integration.
Through a guided experience from CoSN National Lead Trainers Beth Clarke and Dria Setter, district leadership teams will:
Align AI integration with the district's mission, policy, and practice
Assess Gen AI readiness/implementation across seven comprehensive domains
Develop a shared understanding of current state and define a desired future state
Create a prioritized 6-12 month roadmap and project tracker for moving their district towards a higher level of AI maturity
Through this summit, districts will gain access to:
CoSN Maturity Assessment Tool
AI domain-specific apps
AI Roadmapping apps
CoSN Canvas course with exemplars, resources, and support
1 follow-up virtual meeting with Beth and Dria
