Act 20 Literacy Coaching: Application Updates & Support
Application Release: December 1, 2025
Due Date: January 16, 2026
Where to Apply: The application will be submitted through the DPI LiteracyLIteracy Webpage.
What Districts Need to Know:
The rubric and scoring criteria are the same for all applicants
Building-level leaders may apply, but district administrators must sign attestations confirming:
They reviewed the sample contract.
They agree to abide by the requirements.
Applications will be ranked by region, and DPI will then adjust placements statewide to meet statutorythen DPI will adjust placements statewide to meet statute requirements.

Hiring & Coach Qualifications
If your district/school is awarded a coach:
You will follow your own hiring process, but must submit:
Evidence that the selected candidate meets all required qualifications.
A plan for meeting any qualifications not yet met.
Candidates without the required #17 Reading Specialist licensure have 18 months to obtain it.
The contract does not cover licensure costs.
Curriculum Reimbursement Updates
Reimbursement Payments:
Funds were scheduled to be deposited on November 24, 2025.
If you purchased new editions not yet approved (e.g., CKLA 2025, Into Reading 2025, etc.):
DPI will send an email noting that reimbursement will occur once the Council approves the new editions.
The Literacy Council will review new editions first, beginning in January.
Approvals of new editions and newly approved materials will occur on a rolling basis, rather than in a single yearly list.
Annual Act 20 Report
DPI’s Annual Act 20 Report is due to the legislature on November 30.
CESA 2 will share highlights with districts as they become available.
