Kris Statz joins the CESA 2 team as ELA Literacy Consultant. Her background is in special education. She has served as a Tier 1 and Tier 2 PBIS coach at the elementary and middle school levels. She has a Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist license along with Special Education licensing from K-age 21.

For the past two years Kris has worked as an Instructional Coach in Baraboo, and for the 2022-2023 year was also the District Reading Specialist. She is a passionate advocate for literacy for all and views it as a fundamental human right. Additionally, Kris is a lifelong learner and her curiosity has led her to delve into literacy in many areas. Collaboration, relationships, and taking the whole child and their life experiences into account guide her work.
