Carlene Chavez is a Family Engagement Coordinator for CESA 2. Her work is part of the Wisconsin Statewide
Parent-Educator Initiative (WSPEI), a DPI statewide discretionary grant. Carlene works to create partnerships between parents and educators for students with disabilities that lead to better educational outcomes.

As a parent of a young man with autism, Carlene has over 20 years' experience exploring Special Education and Disability Resources. She incorporates what she has learned working with her own son’s many teams, school
systems, and agencies into her work helping other parents. She is focused on system improvements and
coaching to increase family engagement within school districts.
